Abigail Clancy, also known as Abi
Clancy or Abbey Clancy, is an English model and singer who made the headlines
during the 2006 FIFA World Cup as the girlfriend of England football star Peter
Crouch. Born on 10th January 1986 in Liverpool, Abigail Clancy was member of
three piece girl band Genie Queen, who were managed by 80s popstar Andy
McClusky from OMD. The highlight of their career was supporting boy band Blue
on tour in 2004. Unfortunately the band didn't secure a record deal and fell
apart. In 2006 she successfully auditioned for Living TV's Britain's Next Top
Model and made it to the final - eventually coming second. During the World
Cup, allegations surfaced of cocaine-taking as well as cheating on Peter Crouch
with an ex-boyfriend, and she was sent home in disgrace half way through the
series. Peter Crouch later dumped Abigail by fax and issued a legal statement
disclaiming any further involvement with her. |
